The Northern Valley Football Wrap Up (Week 5)

BLUEMONT, Va.- The Clarke County Eagles (3-1) defeated the Central Falcons (2-3) 27-6 Friday, Sept. 25 at Wilbur M. Feltner Stadium as they started their 2015 Bull Run schedule.

Eagles Head Coach Chris Parker picked up his 100th coaching victory and was presented a game ball by Clarke Athletic Director and assistant coach Casey Childs.

"I remember vividly that first win," Parker said. "I was trying to get the program back and it's been a long haul, but this is a team milestone, I'm always about the team."

The Eagles got two touchdowns from quarterback Jordon Turner on rushes of 6 and 2 yards. Turner ended up with 83 yards on 12 carries and was 2 of 4 for 25 yards passing.

Hunter Rogers led all rushers with 102 yards on 18 carries including a 3 yard touchdown run.

Jaxon Ottobre scored on a 41 yard touchdown run and 57 yards on 5 carries. Matt Dang added 60 yards rushing on 4 carries.

Central running back Hank Hoover ended up with 57 yards on 17 carries including a 1 yard touchdown run.

Central quarterback Jordon Hosaflook was 11 for 18 for 126 yards.

The Millbrook Pioneers (3-2) lost a thriller to the Woodgrove Wolverines (4-1) 31-28 in double overtime.  The score at the end of regulation stood at 21-21.

Wolverine kicker Cameron Gieseman hit a 24 yard field goal in the second overtime that was the difference and game winner.

Both teams scored touchdowns in the first overtime with Nazeeh Johnson (22 carries, 85 yds. 2 td's) going in from 4 yards out for Millbrook, while Woodgrove quarterback Mike Kovich (12 of 19 for 155 yds. 2 td's) hit Mikey Bryant for a 19 yard touchdown pass.

Wolverine running back Charlie Clewis led all rushers with 106 yards on 27 carries with touchdown runs of 5 and 3 yards.

Pioneer back P.K. Kier added 66 yards on 17 carries including a 12 yard touchdown run.

The Sherando Warriors (5-0) continued their perfection as they defeated the Jefferson, WV Cougars (3-1) 28-7. 

Warrior running back D.J. Myers rushed for 175 yards on 36 carries and scored on a 65 yard touchdown run.

Dylan Rivers scored twice for the Warriors on a 1 yard run and a 48 yard touchdown pass from Patrick Minteer.

The James Wood Colonels  (4-1) won their 4th game in a row with a 28-0 shutout the Hedgesville, WV Eagles  in a cross state matchup.

Wood's Dillon Manuel had 108 yards receiving including a 79 yard touchdown pass from Dade Carroll and on the other side of the ball returned an interception 38 yards for a Colonel score.

One of the Valley's top running backs Tyler Bishop rushed for 151 yards on 26 carries and scored on touchdown runs of 13 and 19 yards. 

In five games Bishop has rushed for 1,114 yards and is averaging 222 yards per game and is on pace for a 2000 yard season.
